Chief Constable Fiona Wilson

Chief Constable Fiona Wilson brings over 26 years of distinguished policing experience. She most recently served as Deputy Chief Constable with the Vancouver Police Department, where she led the Investigation Division overseeing major crime, organized crime, gangs and drugs, cybercrime, intelligence and counter-terrorism, and other specialized areas of public safety. Earlier in her career she worked in patrol, major crime, sex crimes, professional standards, and walked the beat in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside before advancing into senior leadership roles.

An accredited Team Commander, Chief Wilson has contributed to some of the most complex investigations in British Columbia. She is nationally recognized for her leadership in advancing responses to mental health and substance use, expanding crisis intervention and building partnerships to better support vulnerable individuals.

Chief Wilson is a past President of the BC Association of Chiefs of Police, co-chair of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Drug Advisory Committee, and serves on numerous committees and boards at the local, provincial, and national level. She holds BA and MA degrees in Criminology from SFU and is a Member of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces.

The Victoria Police Department was established in 1858 and is the oldest Police department west of the Great Lakes. Our police officers, civilian staff and volunteers proudly serve the City of Victoria and the Township of Esquimalt.

A world-renowned tourist destination, the City of Victoria is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. It is the capital of British Columbia and the Township of Esquimalt is the home of the Pacific Fleet of Canada’s Navy.
